Back Story

Our Classic American Toffee made by slow cooking Grade AA butter and pure cane sugar until that perfect golden color is achieved, adding a splash of barrel-aged bourbon and a handful of fresh roasted pecans, and then finishing it off with a covering of premium 60% cocoa dark chocolate and just a hint of crunchy sea salt.

Each resealable pouch will contain 2.5oz of broken toffee pieces (3-4 large chunks). 

Shelf-Life.  Our caramels are best when fresh and should be consumed within 6 months of delivery.  If you're able to keep from eating the whole box after opening, we recommend storing your caramels in an air-tight container to help maintain freshness.

Shotwell Candy is my life's work and legacy.  In the beginning, I started making caramel in my home kitchen at night after coming home from my day job and after my wife and three daughters were sound asleep.  It was my dream.  My passion.  I used simple, fresh ingredients, and timeless methods to make caramel and toffee in its best possible form.  Since I had a day job at the time, I would start my nightly candy work around 8:30pm and spend the next 4-5 hours cooking, cutting, wrapping and packaging my toffees & caramels.  Family and friends pitched in when orders piled up and we were known to throw "shipping parties" in order to entice friends into helping us prepare shipments in exchange for food and beverage. 

Though the endless nights in my home kitchen and "shipping parties" are a thing of the past, I remain singularly focused on staying true to who I am and passionate about the candy you're about to enjoy.  I'm reminded daily about the importance of teaching my children to dream big and to create anything they want so long as they work hard, practice patience, and stay true to themselves.
