Ruby-throated hummingbirds spend the winter in Central America, Mexico, and Florida and migrate to Canada and other parts of Eastern North America for the summer to breed. They are attached to the primary colors of flowers like hydrangeas, but they won’t keep coming back if there is no nectar. The hydrangeas called “mopheads” are sterile and thus will be visited only rarely.
